In the aftermath of World War III, survivors live underground in a post-apocalyptic Paris where scientists research time travel to rescue the present. Glasgow Film Festival 2017 presents our Atmosphere of the acclaimed short by Chris Marker, the inspiration for Terry Gilliam’s 'Twelve Monkeys'.

With narration by Alasdair Hankinsson, sound artists Tim Shaw & Sébastien Piquemal will re-score the film in this special live performance that explores digital mobile technology for surround sound diffusion. Ensure you bring your devices fully charged, and keep them switched on.

As part of the Festival of Architecture 2016 the Alt-w Fund has commissioned a series of new works by artists based in Scotland for a touring exhibition onboard the Travelling Gallery. From August 2016 the exhibition will include work by ~ in the fields, Charles Young, Dennis & Debbie Club and The Bothy Project with Torsten Lauschmann.

With a focus on analogue, electronic and digital sound technology, Atmosphere is coming to the new Edinburgh Digital Entertainment Festival this August. Toby Jones stars as a sound engineer working on the special effects for a 1970s Italian giallo film, 'The Equestrian Vortex'.

However, a case of life imitating art unfolds in this terrifying take on the Englishman abroad drama. Guest foley artists will work on live analogue special effects throughout the screening, bringing the mechanics behind the film firmly into view with a virtuoso slice and dice.
